Hospital Information Systems - WinMed HIS

     Intermed Systems is a developer of Hospital Information Patient and Financial Systems. Intermed Systems was established in 1976 and has developed one of the first interactive applications using screen input.

     WinMed HIS is a true graphical user interface application. With the use of page list boxes to spread sheet like grids, the WinMed application runs in a native Windows environment.

     Users maintains access to all information contained in the database by utilizing any ODBC compliant application. WinMed data dictionaries work with either ODBC compliant applications or SQL compliant applications.

     Networking of the application also allows accessibility to the information via a hospital intranet. Information can be available to end-users in a web-page format.

The Admit/Discharge/Transfer application is utilized to admit an Inpatient into the hospital or register an Outpatient within a designated registration area. Patient Account Numbers and Medical Record Numbers may be assigned automatically or manually.

The system includes a Master Patient Index (MPI), which contains information needed by both the Admissions department and Medical Records departments.

Order Communication

 

The Order Communications System (OCS) is an application offered with the WinMed Hospital Information System (WinMed/HIS). This application is utilized in conjunction with the Admit/Discharge/Transfer Application (ADT) and the Patient Accounting Application (P/A). The Order Communications System allows ancillary orders to be requested at the nursing station, the ancillary departments, or the department workstations. Orders are then transmitted to the appropriate departments. Results are also transmitted back to the nursing station or requesting department.
